Would this be terribly typical and cliche?

You really do yourself a disservice when you post something like this on-line. Your story idea is a seed that can sprout into a book that provides fame and income. By announcing it before it is written, you give a less inventive person who might be a better or faster writer the opportunity to steal your idea and create something under his or her own name. Better would be to join a real-life writer's group in your community where you can bounce the ideas off real writers. There are some on-line communities of writers that will provide reviews. However, you still risk having your idea stolen before you can allow it to germinate and grow. The proper approach for these sites is to post snippets for critiquing that do not give away the overall plot.
