Who should I see about losing weight?
It sounds like you are having some trouble. Start by listening to your body. You should by no means cut anything out of your diet completely and abruptly. If you are used to eating a lot, or junk food your body will actually go into shock. If you start small, you will be big changes. A lot of times when you cut your diet in half, you actually lose less weight. Try first to eat more fruits and veggies without cutting into your calorie count for the day. When you successfully get all of your servings and are very used to eating them in your routine, that's when you should start cutting the fattier foods. Ease off fast food, and start to eat smaller portions slowly. Focus more on eating healthy and feeling full than losing the weight. Test the waters- start to eat more whole wheat foods and nuts and legumes and see what you like. Eat only the fruits and veggies you love- think of them as a treat. Instead of forcing yourself to exercise for hours a week, start by simply living an active lifestyle. If you have a dog, take it on a walk once a day, or simply walk by yourself or with a friend. Walk to the grocery store or post office, or anywhere in reasonable walking distance, instead of driving. Park farther away wherever you shop or work. This works WONDERS because its something you do every day, not just 3 times a week! Read a book.... not a diet book, a health food book. You can talk to your doctor, but because they are so focused on you losing the weight they may want to put you on a restrictive diet right away, and as you saw it doesn't last. I believe that it is most important to do it yourself (with support) and listen to your body! because a nutritionist or a doctor doesn't know what it's like to be you! Trust me, put the focus on eating healthy and living instead of losing weight and you will notice a huge difference in weight AND energy!!! Good luck!
